What it checks

  • AI crawlers allowed: Reads the site's robots.txt and flags if GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended, CCBot or Applebot-Extended are blocked.
  • Structured data (schema): Finds the JSON-LD schema on the page, lists the types and flags errors.
  • Business identity: Checks for Organization or LocalBusiness schema, so AI tools know who you are.
  • Question-and-answer content: Looks for FAQs and FAQPage schema, which AI answers often quote.
  • llms.txt: Checks whether the site has an llms.txt guide for AI tools.
  • Indexing: Flags a 'noindex' tag that would hide the page from Google and AI search.
  • Title, description and H1: Checks that the page clearly says what it is about.
  • Content depth: Counts the words on the page; thin pages are rarely cited.
  • Canonical, Open Graph, alt text and HTTPS: The basics that help search engines and AI tools trust and display the page.

How to use it

  1. Add the extension to Chrome from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Pin it to your toolbar (click the puzzle icon, then the pin).
  3. Open any website and click the Z icon. The score and fixes appear instantly.

Who it is for

  • Business owners who want to know if ChatGPT and other AI assistants can read their website.
  • Marketers and SEO specialists auditing client pages or competitors quickly.
  • Web developers and agencies checking launches before they go live.

It works on any public website, in any language, in any country: the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and beyond.

How the score works

Each of the 14 checks carries a weight. The most important are AI crawler access, structured data, business identity, question-and-answer content and whether the page can be indexed. A score of 80 or above means the page is well prepared, 55 to 79 means it needs work, and below 55 means important basics are missing. The score covers what you control on your own page, so it is a starting point, not a guarantee of being cited.

Why AI search readiness matters

People now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews which business to choose, and these tools quote pages they can read and understand. Blocked AI crawlers, missing schema or thin pages mean your competitors get mentioned instead. On 12 October 2026, Google's AI Overview for "healthcare clinic marketing agency" (searched from Islamabad) listed ZAVYANS second; the same checks in this extension are what we use on our own site.

  • What it accesses: only the tab you are viewing, and only when you click the extension. It reads that page's HTML (title, headings, schema, meta tags, text length and images) and requests that same website's /robots.txt and /llms.txt files.
  • What it stores: nothing. Results are shown in the popup and disappear when you close it.
  • What it sends: nothing. The extension has no analytics, no tracking and no server. No personal or browsing data is collected, sold or shared.
  • Permissions: "activeTab" and "scripting", used only to read the current page after you click.
  • Links: buttons in the popup open zavyans.com in a new tab. Our website's own privacy policy applies there.

Frequently asked questions

Is the AI Search Checker free?

Yes. The extension is completely free, with no account or sign-up.

Does the extension collect my data?

No. It only runs when you click it, reads the page you are on and that site's robots.txt and llms.txt, and shows the result in the popup. Nothing is stored, tracked or sent to ZAVYANS or anyone else.

What does the score mean?

It is a weighted score out of 100 across 14 checks that matter for AI search. 80 or above means the page is well prepared; below 55 means important basics are missing.

Does a high score guarantee my business will appear in ChatGPT or AI Overviews?

No. The checks cover what you control on the page. AI tools also weigh reputation, reviews and mentions across the web, which is what our AI search optimization service works on.

Which browsers does it work in?

Google Chrome and other Chromium browsers that support Chrome extensions, such as Microsoft Edge and Brave.

What is AI search readiness?

It is how easy a page is for AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot to access, understand and quote. It depends on whether AI crawlers are allowed in, whether the page has clear structured data and answers, and whether it states who you are and what you offer.

What is llms.txt?

llms.txt is an optional plain-text guide at the root of a website that points AI tools to the most useful pages. It is not required, but it can help. The checker tells you whether your site has one.

What is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?

SEO helps pages rank in search results. AEO (answer engine optimization) helps pages give direct answers. GEO (generative engine optimization) helps your business be cited inside AI-written answers. The checker covers the on-page basics all three share.

Does it work on websites in any language or country?

Yes. It checks the structure of the page, such as crawler access, structured data, headings and FAQs, so it works on websites in any language and in any country.

How do I improve my score?

Follow the plain-English fix shown next to each problem. Common fixes are unblocking AI crawlers in robots.txt, adding Organization and FAQ schema, writing a clear title, description and heading, adding answers to real customer questions, and adding an llms.txt file.

Does it work on mobile?

No. It is a desktop Chrome extension. On a phone you can use our free online AI search readiness checker instead.

How is it different from Lighthouse or other SEO tools?

Most SEO tools focus on speed and ranking factors. AI Search Checker focuses on what AI assistants need, such as AI crawler access, business identity, FAQs and llms.txt, and explains the fixes in plain English.
