What this tool checks
llms.txt
Whether AI systems have a clean, structured summary of your site instead of guessing from raw HTML.
AI crawler access
Whether GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, and others are accidentally blocked in robots.txt.
FAQ & Speakable schema
Direct-answer formats AI answer engines consistently favor for citations.
Organization identity
Whether AI systems can confidently tell who is actually behind your content.
Sitemap & structured data
Whether your full content is discoverable and machine-readable.
HTTPS
A baseline trust signal for both search engines and AI crawlers.
How to use the AI Search (GEO) Readiness Checker
- Enter your website address, for example yourwebsite.com.
- Click "Check AI Readiness". The tool checks your llms.txt file, robots.txt rules for AI crawlers, structured data, sitemap and HTTPS.
- Work through anything flagged, starting with AI crawler access, since blocked crawlers can't read your content at all.
- Run the check again after making changes.
What to do with your results
Fix the basics first: allow AI crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot in robots.txt, make sure you have a sitemap and HTTPS, and add Organization schema so AI tools know who is behind the site. Then work on content: a clear, direct answer near the top of each important page, and FAQs marked up with FAQPage schema.

Frequently asked questions
What does the GEO readiness checker look at?
It checks whether your site has an llms.txt file, whether AI crawlers such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot are allowed in robots.txt, whether pages use FAQPage and Speakable structured data, and whether your business identity is marked up with Organization schema.
Does a good score guarantee ChatGPT will cite my site?
No. It checks the technical basics that make citation possible. Whether AI tools actually cite you also depends on your content, how well known your brand is, and mentions of your business on other trusted sites.
What is llms.txt?
A plain-text file at the root of a website that summarises what the site is and links to its most important pages, so AI systems can understand it quickly. It is a proposed convention rather than an official standard, and support varies between AI tools.
Should I block AI crawlers?
Only if you don't want AI tools to use your content. If you want ChatGPT or Perplexity to find and cite your business, blocking their crawlers works against you.
