AI UGC (AI-Generated UGC-Style Content)

AI UGC is advertising content made with AI tools, such as AI avatars, voices and product imagery, in the casual style of user-generated content from creators and customers.

User-generated content (UGC) performs well on social media because it feels authentic and native to the feed. AI UGC uses AI tools to produce videos and images in a similar style faster and at lower cost, which lets brands test many more ad ideas.

AI UGC must not mislead people. AI avatars shouldn't be presented as real customers giving testimonials, real people's likeness shouldn't be used without permission, and platforms may require AI-generated content to be labelled.

AI UGC in practice

A skincare brand creates fifteen short AI avatar videos testing different hooks about its moisturiser. The three best-performing hooks are then filmed with real creators, combining AI speed with genuine customer voices.

Common questions about AI UGC

Is AI UGC allowed in ads?

Generally yes, if it follows platform rules and advertising law, including not making false claims or presenting AI people as real customers.

Is AI UGC cheaper than real creators?

Usually, per video. Its main advantage is speed and volume for testing, rather than replacing every real creator.

Do AI UGC ads perform well?

Some do. Performance depends on the hook, offer and product, so testing several variations is the best way to find out.

Do AI ads need to be labelled?

Some platforms require labels for realistic AI-generated content, and rules are expanding, so we follow each platform's current policy.
